Who would not want a clean household? Home cleaning is a matter of course, like cooking. If you have a larger household, children or pets, you know how time-consuming cleaning of such a household can be. However, these days, advances in technology mean you can rely on the excellent helpers that are robotic vacuum cleaners.
Robotic vacuum cleaners are really good cleaning aids, although, of course, they cannot do everything. You will still have to do some of the cleaning, for example, the corners of the room or inaccessible spaces.
However, if you have wooden floors or other hard surfaces, or possibly low-pile carpets, this robotic vacuum cleaner will do the work instead of you and will save you a lot of time and effort.

1. Haier XShuai C3 – Camera for video chat
This robot vacuum cleaner is a very successful device that can be controlled by the Amazon Alexa application, using voice commands. This app is available for both iOS and Android, so you can use your Smartphone to remotely control your robotic vacuum cleaner.
This device has five preset modes, auto mode, spot mode, edge mode, zigzag mode and clean suction mode.
It also has a small tank into which you can put water or cleaning fluid. The liquid is slowly released into the cleaning cloth underneath the tank for better cleaning of flat surfaces.
It has front sensors that detect the area in front of it, preventing it falling down the stairs, as well as detecting the walls to prevent it from colliding. When a robot identifies these risks, it redirects its cleaning elsewhere.
This device also has a HEPA filter for capturing the finest dirt. It is also programmed to automatically return to the docking station when the battery is low and to continue cleaning after a full charging.
What is very useful on this robot is that it has a front camera through which, via your mobile application, you can see what the robot sees; in other words, you can actually use it for space watching.
The robot has a very low profile, only 3.74 inches, thanks to which it can clean under the furniture, bed, sofa and in any other areas that are difficult to reach. On the downside, the user manual could be better.

2. Eventer B3000 – Anti-allergy from dust
This robot is one of the quietest robotic vacuum cleaners we have here. At just 65dB, that’s not a great deal when you consider it has a suction power of 1000Pa. And that’s enough power for a very good cleaning of your floors.
Naturally, it has several sensors, such as an infrared sensor that detects the space in front of the robot in the horizontal direction, and also a drop sensor for detecting space at a certain angle.
This robot also has a dash bin of 600ml, so you will not have to handle this container after each cleaning, although, of course, that depends on the amount of pollution. It also has a HEPA filter that captures fine dirt and dust and prevents secondary air pollution.
It can work on different types of floors or on a thin, short-haired carpet. Obviously, though, no robotic vacuum cleaner can handle high and dense carpets – it’s not a bulldozer.
It is also fully automatic, that is, you can program it for cleaning at a certain time. Naturally, it’s auto-charging, so you just enter the cleaning mode and turn on the robot. Small obstacles, such as transitions between different types of floors, handle very well.
This robot has three cleaning modes – auto cleaning, whereby it calculates room size and adjusts cleaning time, spot cleaning mode, which is intensive cleaning of localized areas, and edge cleaning mode for edge and corner cleaning.
For this type of cleaning, the main brush, which is located on the front of the robot, is designed to provide an effective, wide cleaning path.
The operating time is about 90 minutes at full battery charge, but, of course, it depends on the conditions in which the robot works. Charging time is about 200 – 300 minutes.
This robot has high performance, relatively good dustbin size and is very easy to use. It is also quiet, which is especially advantageous for families with small children.
3. PureClean PUCRC95 – Low mini profil
It is designed for wooden floors, linoleum, tiles, stone and carpets. But don’t forget that the carpets on which these robotic vacuum cleaners work must be thin, with low-pile.
This robot can run for up to 90 minutes at full battery level and, once cleaning is complete or if the battery is discharged, the robot automatically returns to the docking station and starts the charging mode.
It is equipped with sensors that prevent falling from the staircase and, of course, also detects obstacles in front of it. It also has reusable and washable filters, and a HEPA filter is also available.
Unfortunately, this robotic vacuum cleaner only has 300ml of dustbin, which may be a little small for some.
As such, you will probably have to empty this dustbin after every cleaning. On the other hand, it has the advantage that each further cleaning will begin with an empty dustbin, so the robot will then be able to better manage its work.
Also, emptying the dustbin is not difficult – it can be easily opened and removed, so it does not take much time.

4. Xiaomi Mi Robot – Laser guidance system
This robotic vacuum cleaner differs slightly from others by using a laser sensor for navigation and to determine the layout of the cleaning area. This technology is designed and modified to be usable in the home, which means it is harmless to health.
However, it is not recommended to look directly into the sensor lens. But then, why would anyone do that?
And thanks to this laser technology, it can also work on very dark to black surfaces. However, if there are very contrasting alternating colors (such as white and black), this robot will probably have problems with that.
This robot divides the space into partitions and first cleans the first partition and then moves to the next. It proceeds methodically, thereby saving considerable time.
It has a 5200mAh battery, which allows it to work for up to 150 minutes. It is a matter of course for it to automatically return to the docking station when the battery level drops to about 20%. In this case, it continues cleaning after charging the battery, exactly from the point where it stopped.
There is also a mobile app that you can use to control the robot over Wi-Fi, and even use to see its cleaning path. It can also be programmed to start cleaning at a specific set time. And that’s definitely a very useful feature.

5. CLOBOT MT810 – Support wet mop
The first mode uses a delayed start by which the vacuum cleaner begins working according to a set time. In the second mode, the initial pass is activated, then the robot is charged and starts to clean again.
The spot mode means working in a small, focused area that requires special cleanliness, while, in turbo mode, the vacuum cleaner will work for full power for deep cleaning and, in wall-follow mode, it performs cleaning along the walls in the room. It also has a water tank for wet wiping floors.
The vacuum cleaner features a modernized 1300Pa suction power engine and also has a large 900ml dustbin. However, due to its performance, it is not the quietest – the noise level is ≤70dB.

6. Eufy RoboVac 11 – Drop-sensing technology
It is equipped with an infrared-sensor for evading obstacles and drop-sensing technology to avoid falls.
For cleaning, it uses one main roller brush, two side brushes and has a suction power of 1000Pa, which ensures a really good cleaning result. Also, minor obstacles, such as crossing from a solid floor to a low carpet, do not cause it any problems.
It can work up to 90 minutes without charging and the noise is really low – just 64dB. Which isn’t a great deal at all. Its dustbin is rather average, having a volume of 600ml. Not too big and not too small. On the other hand, the handling of the dustbin is very easy and it takes barely a few seconds to empty.
You can program this robot to start cleaning on certain days of the week at the specified hour and, if the dustbin is full, you do not have to worry about something going wrong – the robot simply stops and waits until you empty it.

7. bObsweep Junior – Quiet helper
As it belongs to the cheaper models, it does not, therefore, offer any extra special features; however it does its job, and, for some, the most important thing is the price.
However, it does offer a very large dustbin, which has a capacity of 1000ml, and it also has a HEPA filter.
There are three working modes: the “Go” mode, which allows the robot to clean the area for one hour and then return to the charging station; the “Waffle” mode, which allows repeated shifts over the designated area for deep cleaning; and the “Wall Track” mode, in which when the robot cleans the area along the walls for 10 minutes.
It comes with a remote control to control its movement, select the cleaning mode, stop the robot, change its speed or send it to the charging station.
This robot also has a Checkup button that lets you see whether the vacuum cleaner needs any maintenance.
In terms of orientation, four edge sensors help to prevent it falling off the stairs and to avoid obstacles, while five other sensors monitor the distance of the walls.

8. iRobot Roomba 650 – High performance, good for pet hair
This robotic vacuum cleaner is intended primarily for the removal of animal hair, but, obviously, it can be used for more than that. It features a patented three-stage cleaning system that uses dual multi-surface brushes and a specially designed edge brush.
Its sensors recognize concentrated areas of dirt, for example, in places with great traffic in your home, and the robot then performs further cleaning in these places.
It isn’t the quietest of robots, about 73dB at full load; however, this is due to its relatively good suction power. Strong brushes first release the dirt from the floor, and then it sucks it up using its powerful suction system.
Unfortunately, the dustbin is not the largest; its volume is only 470ml. This means that you will probably have to empty it after every cleaning.

9. ECOVACS DEEBOT N79 – Wi-Fi Connected
It has three working modes, single room mode, edge mode and spot cleaning. In the first mode, it cleans the dirt in one room, in the second mode it focuses on edge cleaning and, in the third mode, it performs intensive cleaning at a specific location.
It is equipped with an AC motor that allows higher revolutions and ensures a powerful suction of up to 1000Pa. This is a very good performance for effectively cleaning dirt, dust, debris and hair from floors.
The main brush is V-shaped, and can, therefore, achieve greater lifting and deeper cleaning, especially on carpets.
Compared with the direct suction module, the main brush provides better cleaning performance on stubborn grime.
It also has three types of Anti-Drop Sensors that can detect a drop-off greater than 3.1 inches. This means that it can work safely without the risk of falling.
You can control the robot with an easy to use remote control, but you can also use a Smartphone application. It also has several other useful features, such as showing how much battery life is left or when you need to replace filters and brushes, or even scheduled cleaning tasks. If you want, you can also use the app to rename the robot name.

10. ILIFE A4s – Quiet and powerful
It also excels in quiet operation, which at full load, is around 65dB, so, you can easily watch TV while still letting the robot work. Its batteries allow it to run continuously for up to 140 minutes, which is good if you have a larger room or you want the robot to perform deep cleaning.
Unfortunately, the dustbin is not too large – just 450ml. So, you’ll probably have to clean this dustbin more often.
It has a very good suction power of 1000Pa; therefore, it does not have any problem in collecting dirt, and it is also suitable for households where there are pets. It naturally comes with a remote control and it also has a HEPA filter.
It features infrared sensors that are sensitive and work very well, helping the robot to avoid obstacles and preventing it falling from the stairs.
There is an EDGE button for cleaning modes, whereby the robot will clean along the walls, and you can also use the SPOT button to clean a particular area. Or, you can use the MAX button to operate at maximum power, but, in this case, of course, the batteries will run down much faster.

If you are considering purchasing this device, you should consider the following several aspects.
If you have high-pile carpets on the floor, the robotic vacuum cleaner is unnecessary for you. These devices are designed exclusively for hard surfaces and work best on wooden floors, tiles or very low pile carpets.
The general deficiency in most (maybe all) of these robots is that they have problems with a very dark surface. Their sensors cannot “read” this color and identify it as an empty space. And, because the sensors are also set to prevent falling off the stairs, the robot becomes confused in this case and does not know exactly what to do.
Some manufacturers claim to have solved this problem and that their robots have no problem with dark surfaces and some users confirm this. However, this is a general problem that, unfortunately, continues to persist. In addition, changing the contrast colors (e.g. white and black stripes on the carpet) may be a problem for some robotic vacuum cleaners.
If you have many cables or other obstacles on the floor, no robotic vacuum cleaner can handle this.
This is understandable – the robot needs free space in order to work. It is able to avoid larger obstacles, but us likely to get tangled in the cables.
However, these robot vacuum cleaners are very good at vacuuming animal hair. So, if you have a dog at home, this device is definitely suitable for you.
We often come across the term HEPA. What is it?
It is an abbreviation for “High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter” and was developed by NASA to protect astronauts from dangerous particles.
How does the HEPA filter work? The principle is simple – a large flat filter made of glass microfiber is multi-folded into a harmonica so as to pass only clean air without any particles. In one layer, the filter is permeable and careful layering ensures its excellent filtering capability.
The HEPA filter is usually the last filter in the vacuum cleaner. Its job is to capture the finest particles, such as dust, pollen, cigarette smoke, mite excrement or molds.
If the members of your household are not allergic, the HEPA filter is not absolutely necessary. The truth, however, is that dust allergies may develop at any age due to imperfectly clean environments. Cleaner air, of course, breathes better, which will be appreciated by both young children and the older members of the family.
It is interesting to note that different models of robotic vacuum cleaners have different sizes of dustbins – from 300ml to 1000ml. The average volume of the dustbin should be around 400-500ml. This is sufficient for one normal cleaning cycle. Larger volumes of dustbins are not an especially great extra asset because the best work is done by the robot with an empty dustbin – that is, emptying the dustbin after each cleansing cycle.
For example, if you have a 1000ml dustbin and, after the cleaning cycle, you do not empty it, the robot engine will be more stressed on further cleaning; therefore, the robot will consume more energy and this next cleaning cycle will not be as effective.
A large volume of dustbin is suitable for cleaning a large or heavily polluted space in one cleaning cycle; however, for normally large or normally dirty areas, it is not appropriate.
Here, you probably do not have to worry – these robot vacuum cleaners are designed to provide sufficient suction power. Normally, their suction power is around 1000Pa, which is sufficient for very good vacuuming.
Battery and operating time
Typically, the operating time for these robots is about 90 minutes, although some models offer up to 120 or 150 minutes of operation. Nevertheless, remember that these values are measured under ideal conditions (empty dustbin, no obstructions, fully charged battery, little pollution, etc.). So, under normal operation, these values may slightly vary.
However, even the 90-minute operating time is sufficient for one normal cleaning cycle and, moreover, these robotic vacuum cleaners will automatically return to the dock to charge the battery if their energy drops below a certain limit. Some of these robots, after charging the battery, can even return to the original cleaning place and continue where they stopped.
Battery capacity is typically around 2600mAh and is generally sufficient for 70-90 minutes of cleaning (depending, of course, on conditions, battery age, etc.). Some models have larger battery capacities, but the robot operating time stated by the manufacturer is important. Greater battery capacity does not necessarily mean longer operating time, depending, of course, on the weight of the robot and its design.
However, the operating times of the individual models, as stated by the manufacturers, coincide in practice.
